Module Description:The aims of this module are to provide a knowledge and understanding of employment law and selected areas of company and partnership law for an accountant in business. This knowledge and understanding will enable the student to liaise effectively with legal advisers, limit the legal exposure of the business, deal effectively with employees and prospective employees and conduct business through, and with, partnerships and companies. As law is an ongoing and dynamic subject the syllabus content will be expanded or modified, as the case may be, to reflect developments in the law set out in this Module.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate an understanding of the implications of the relevant legal principles for the business.
LO2 Apply the relevant legal principles in business.
LO3 Use the knowledge of employment law when dealing with current and prospective employees.
LO4 Apply the knowledge of the law of partnership in business.
LO5 Use the knowledge of company law in business.
