Module Description:This module expands on the previous semesters’ introduction to the French language. It aims to further develop spoken competence, writing skills, reading and aural skills with exposure to authentic materials in a range of media. The students will also be exposed to aspects of culture and society, relevant to the tourism and hospitality sector, in France and other French speaking countries.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Converse and initiate conversation in the target language.
LO2 Read and understand selected written articles of a general nature and also relating to the tourism and hospitality sector, in the target language.
LO3 Comprehend a range of audio and DVD materials in the target language.
LO4 Formulate short written texts relevant to topics studied.
LO5 Appreciate and discuss aspects of the culture and society of France and the tourism and hospitality industry of French speaking countries.
