Module Description:The purpose of this module is to facilitate the student in becoming competent in laboratory procedures relating to other modules studied in semester 6
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Apply the relevant skills to analyse and interpret experimental data obtained from different techniques and be able to effectively report findings
LO2 select and perform appropriate methodology to solve analytical problems associated with biological and chemical samples.
LO3 Plan and execute practical investigation from problem recognition through tp appraisal of results.
LO4 Separate racemic mixtures of stereoisomers
LO5 Set up, isolate, purify and characterise the products of regioselective, stereoselective and targetd asymmetric reactions
LO6 Measure physical quantities in real systems, and assess how closely they approximate to ideal theories
LO7 Measure thermodynamic parameters by more than one method, and assess the relative merits of the methods
