Module Description:This module will develop the student's practical skills in API Processing & Environmental technology; Physical & Inorganic Chemistry; Pharma Microbiology, and Pharma Analysis
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Identify the basic components of spectroscopic measurement system.
LO2 Understand the steps involved in developing and validating an analytical method.
LO3 Select the most appropriate method of sample preparation for each spectroscopic technique.
LO4 Set-up and operate each of the instruments discussed.
LO5 Understand the accuracy and precision limitations applicable to each technique
LO6 Describe flowsheet symbols and conduct basic process control experiments in the plant
LO7 Know how to manufacture drug API compounds, monitor their reaction and determine their purity
LO8 Know how to analyse for industrial pollutants in waste streams
LO9 Determine rate constants and equilibrium constants for reactions
LO10 Prepare and characterise inorganic complexes
