Module Description:This module helps students to prepare for study abroad, or for work in a multi-cultural environment whether at home or abroad. The impact on the individual of a period of stay abroad is planned in all apepcts; academic, professional, financial, logistical, social, personal, and psychological. Students conduct research to plan and host two in-house publicity events; an information desk at I T Tallaght's autumn semester Open Day, and a hospitality event for college alumni.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 work both alone and as part of a team to acquire, source, reference and present specific types of information correctly.
LO2 be self-directed in terms of time, motivation, planning, and ability to take ownership of given tasks.
LO3 work under direction and also recognise when one's own initiative is required in a work environment.
LO4 develop one's own interpersonal skills and use new learning to contribute to the planning and execution of a project or event in a positive and beneficial way.
LO5 apply the knowledge and skills ecquired through this taught module in the forthcoming internship workplace.

The Erasmus+ Programme
An insight into aspects of the Erasmus+ programme that are relevant to students undertaking internships outside of Ireland.
Self-evaluation techniques
Students are directed to engage in self-assessment of their existing skill set, and reflect on what prefessional and inter-personal skills are useful or required in a workplace.
Personal Development Skills
Learners organise themselves into small groups and then teams, working together to coordinate the publicity events planned for the middle and end of the semester.
