Module Description:• To extend knowledge and competency in creative and recreational activities through practical participation in Applied Art and Music. • To explore the etiology of disability and the role of Art and Music in the lives of people who are challenged or disabled. • To provide the students with the knowledge and confidence to develop a Music and Art recreation programme for mainstream and special needs groups.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Develop their own competency in terms of skill development for ART and Music
LO2 Plan, implement, evaluate and practise activity planning through peer teaching.
LO3 Adapt and modify resources to aid participation in activity for those with physical limitations or disabilities
LO4 Identify the key components of Applied Art and Music in relation to improving the well-being of people with physical disabilities.
