Module Description:The work experience component is an option for students in their final year of the BA (Hons) in Advertising and Marketing Communications. Students who choose to participate are awarded 5 additional credits if they successfullly complete this module i.e. over and above the 60 core credits. The component aims to offer the student the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the course in an industrial workplace setting. It aims to facilitate the student in developing the practical competencies and communication skills necessary to function as an effective team member in the work environment.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Apply the practical skills acquired on the academic programme within the workplace.
LO2 Work as a member of a team and have developed appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
LO3 Demonstrate an ability to adjust to working life, seek advice and accept responsibility.
LO4 Demonstrate an ability to work to deadlines.
LO5 Exhibit the ability to show attention to detail.

At the end of their work experience, the student's supervisor (a nominated individual in the organisation where the student does their work experience) completes a form that assesses the student's performance.
