Module Description:This module builds on the Interactive Embedded Systems module in semester 2. In this module the emphasis is on wireless integration and embedded software using a low cost MSP430 microcontroller platform . The student is introduced to the basic elements of a smart sensor network.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Define the requirements for a low cost microcontroller for use in sensor applications
LO2 Describe a software development environment for rapid prototype development
LO3 Design simple hardware interface circuits
LO4 Use software to read information from a sensor.
LO5 Implement a simple wireless sensor network
