Module Description:The Aim of this module is to give students a knowledge and understanding of the legal issues surrounding international trade. By the end of the module students will be able to understand the current state of legal and contractual issues surrounding international trade such as International trade agreements, Intellectual property rights and privacy issues, the differing forms of dispute resolution available. As law is an ongoing and dynamic subject the syllabus content will be expanded or modified, as the case may be, to reflect developments in the law set out in this module.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Apply the principles of contract law to real life situations.
LO2 Illustrate the effect on business of international and domestic laws governing intellectual property rights.
LO3 Recognise and explain the importance in business of international privacy law and data protection legislation.
LO4 Identify and explain international dispute resolution mechanisms and fora.
LO5 Examine the impact of international trade agreements within a business context.
