Module Description:The Purpose of this module is to encourage an understanding of entrepreneurial behaviour at both micro and macro levels. It aims to bring students to a leval of business knowledge which would enable them to address in a hands on way the key issues of business start up, growth and long term survival. It will enable students to identify and evaluate new business opportunities and respond appropriately.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Evaluate the importance of enterprise development for the economy and on a personal leval as a possible career choice.
LO2 Assess and identify the nature of the entrepreneur, their background, personality and characteristics and be able to self evaluate using this theory.
LO3 Assess the sources of ideas for new enterprises and understand how to screen these ideas for feasibility.
LO4 Research and prepare a business plan.
LO5 Evaluate the challenges involved in managing a small business with specific focus on resourcing, structuring, controlling and achieving ongoing growth.
