Module Description:The purpose of this module is to introduce the student to the concept of personal IT/IS security, to enable the students to describe various forms of e-commerce including, B2B, B2C, C2C, e-government, m-commerce and to introduce the student to business intelligence, analytics and how they can be used to improve decision making.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Apply business software tools, e.g. MS Office, to resolve business problems.
LO2 Evaluate the role of Business Intelligence & analytics within an organisation.
LO3 Appreciate the important role of personal IT/IS security in the digital world.
LO4 Describe the current status of various forms of e-commerce, including B2B, B2C, C2C, e-government, and m-commerce and Identify advantages and challenges associated with e-commerce and m-commerce.

Continuous Assessment The module assessment strategy supports the program assessment strategy by employing a combination of summative and formative assessment techniques that provide feedback and feedforward of learning, for learning and as learning (T&L Forum 2017). Assessment tasks can include skills tests, research projects, problem based projects and exams. Evidence of learning can be provided through presentation of findings, process documentation and interviews. Judgement of learning can be based against lecturer developed and/or learner negotiated criteria.
