Module Description:Module Aims: This module aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge to be able to demonstrate an in-depth konowledge of the key issues involved in strategy evaluation and strategy implementation and their application of these issues to a single business, global or diversified company setting and also the ethical issues pertaining to business strategy. This module aims to develop skills in strategic thinking and provide an insight into the process of strategic leadership and into the management of strategic change. It aims to provide a framework within which students can integrate what is learned in the various disciplines of the module and enhance this in a practical way through case analysis.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate an understanding of the various competitive strategies and the strategy options for competing in global markets.
LO2 Critically evaluate the various strategic options available in a diversified company and how to evaluate such strategies
LO3 Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the components for the effective implementation of strategy
LO4 To demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the issues in relation to building resource strengths and organizational capabilities.
LO5 Explain the issues in relation to managing the internal organization to promote better strategy execution, including an analysis of key issues such as corporate culture and leadership

Continuous Assessment 1. The continuous assessment component will take the form of a group project in which students will critically apply and critique the theory of Strategic Management (i.e. global or diversification strategies, the impact of leadership and culture on strategy implmentation) to a company of their choice. The assessment is designed to ensure that a student can critically apply the theory of Strategic Management to the business world. The assessment will take the form of a comprehensive evaluation of a company's global, diversification or overall corporate strategy. 1,2,3,4,5 40.00 Week 8
