Module Description:This module introduces students to the preparation of consolidated financial statements. It also expands students’ knowledge of the application of International Financial Reporting Standards to the preparation of both consolidated and single company financial statements.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Describe and discuss the impact of International Standards on the preparation and disclosures requirements of Consolidated Financial Statements.
LO2 Prepare a Consolidated Statement of Financial position for a parent with at least one subsidiary.
LO3 Prepare the Consolidated Statement of Comprehensive income and retained earnings extracts from the Consolidated Statement of Changes in Equity for a parent with at least one subsidiary.
LO4 Discuss and apply the requirements of a range of International Accounting Standards and compare to FRS 102.
