Module Description:The aims of this module are to introduce the student to the legal system and to give the student a knowledge and understanding of contract law and selected areas of tort and employment law relevant to business. This knowledge and understanding will enable the student to limit the legal exposure of the business and liaise effectively with legal advisers. As law is an ongoing and dynamic subject the syllabus content will be expanded or modified, as the case may be, to reflect developments in the law set out in this module.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Describe the legal system.
LO2 Demonstrate an understanding of the implications of the relevant legal principles for business.
LO3 Apply the knowledge of the law relating to torts in business.
LO4 Use the knowledge of employment law in business.
LO5 Apply the knowledge of the principles of contract law in business.
