Module Description:The purpose of this module is to provide the student with knowledge, information and awareness of mathematical and statistical tools which are useful in the business environment.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Apply Differential Calculus to optimize business functions
LO2 Organise and present statistical data, and from this calculate summary statistics.
LO3 Analyse linear relationships between two variables.
LO4 Calculate probability of simple and compound events.
LO5 Use the Binomial and Poisson probability distributions to calculate probabilities.

Basic differential calculus. Business functions: cost, price, revenue, profit. Marginal functions. Maximum and minimum problems.
