Module Description:The aims of this module are to: Further develop students awareness of approaches to constructing mathematical models for business problems Develop additional mathematical skills relevant to management science Equip students with the knowledge and technical expertise necessary to solve specific business problems and make complex business decisions
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Formulate mathematical models for specific business problems. Interpret solutions of such problems and modify solutions to take account of changes in the environment.
LO2 Apply queuing theory models to solve business problems.
LO3 Apply PERT / CPM methods to complex project scheduling problems.
LO4 Use decision analysis to solve problems.
LO5 Apply techniques of Statistical Quality Control to monitor product quality.
