Module Description:To enable students to obtain a broad knowledge of the nature and application of web applications and social media in business and to learn different web authoring programmes with a view to developing a simple site using one such programme. The module will also provide students with the know how to develop a social media strategy and use that strategy effectively to achieve business goals.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Critically evaluate a cross section of web sites and applications from a hospitality and tourism perspective
LO2 Create a simple website using a content management system that includes graphics and video.
LO3 Critically evaluate a cross section of social media applications from a business perspective.
LO4 Research and prepare a social media plan for a small business in the H&T sector.
