Module Description:The aim of the module is to provide students with an in depth knowledge and understanding of the tasks of strategic management and to be able to critically evaluate the key tasks of the corporate strategy process and the different types of strategy to assist in gaining and retaining a competitive advantage. It aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to assess and evaluate models of strategic analysis, in relation to external environment analysis and internal organisation assessment.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate an understanding of the concepts of corporate and business level strategies and inter-functional co-ordination
LO2 Demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of the five key steps of strategic management incorporating the formulation and implementation of the strategic management process.
LO3 Be able to identify the requirements for fulfilling the role of the general manager/chief executive
LO4 Demonstrate an understanding and be able to apply diagnostic and analytical skills required in the corporate strategy process to assess the external and internal environments of the organization.
