Module Description:The aim of the module is to allow students to develop an appreciation of the issues to be addressed when dealing with the complexities of managing global sourcing of materials and components, the globalisation of manufacturing ans service operations and meeting the needs of the global customer.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Describe and analyse the main constituent parts of logistics and supply chain management and the impact of the forces of globalisation.
LO2 Assess the role of supply chain management in achieving strategic objectives and sustaining competitive advantage
LO3 Align global supply chain operations strategies with global marketing strategies and assess the various views on supply chain risk and vulnerability and devise strategies to deal with these.
LO4 Show how the Digitalisation and communications technologies are impacting on supply chain performance.
LO5 Describe the critical role of supplier selection, development and management in establishing high-performing supply chains and the critical role of procurement in supply chain management.
