Module Description:The module provides the student with a comprehensive understanding of Irish employment legislation. This understanding will equip the student with the skills necessary to apply the relevant legal principles in a business environment and the ability to recognize when to seek professional legal advice. As the employment relationship is an ongoing and dynamic one the syllabus content will be expanded or modified as the case may be to reflect developments in Employment Law.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate an understanding of the implications of employment law.
LO2 Apply the relevant legal principles so as to limit the exposure of the business
LO3 Form enforceable contracts with employees in compliance with employment law.
LO4 Apply the knowledge of industrial relations so as to enable the student to deal effectively with unions.
