Module Description:This module aims to develop an appreciation of various types of energy from different sources. The module also equips the students to understand the conversion of energy from one form to another through different means and their effects on the environment.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Describe the structure of atoms and elements in the periodic table.
LO2 Evaluate biomass potential to generate energy compared with fossil fuels.
LO3 Explain the principles of operation of electrochemical devices for storing energy.
LO4 Describe the properties of sound waves and light.
LO5 Explain the principles and conversion of energy in relation to heat, light, nuclear and chemical sources.
