Module Description:The purpose of this module is to develop the student's practical skills in Aseptic manufacturing, 3D-Organic Chemistry and Pharma Biotechnology.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Isolate and digest plasmid DNA, transform bacterial cells and perform PCR.
LO2 Carry out protein purification, electrophoresis and chromatography experiments
LO3 Separate racemic mixtures of stereoisomers
LO4 Set up, isolate, purify and characterise the products of regioselective, stereoselective and targeted asymmetric reactions
LO5 Carry out mammalian cell sub culturing
LO6 Perform an experiment to detect endotoxin in a sample
LO7 Perform a bulk media fill operation
LO8 Carry out CIP/SIP
LO9 Identify the basic components of a fermenter
LO10 Improve technical writing skills
