Module Description:This module aims to make students aware of the key elements of early year’s settings that can provide for the holistic development of young children with individual needs. Students will also develop an awareness of key considerations in ECCE services in terms of communication and relationship development.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Identify the importance and range of appropriate communication techniques for communicating effectively with young children
LO2 Discuss relevant issues with regards to working with children with special educational needs and with families from ethnic minority groups
LO3 Examine the role of parental and family involvement in early years educational services
LO4 Identify strategies for increasing involvement of children, parents and practitioners in early year’s services
LO5 Design developmentally appropriate play activities based on observation of children's needs and interests
