Module Description:This module aims to provide the student with the essential foundations in three key areas of Physics: mechanics, properties of matter and optics. These topics underpin measurement, microscopy and micrometry as applied in the future study of materials and trace analysis.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Express measurements using scientific units, convert between scientific units.
LO2 Explain the basic principles of Mechanics, Properties of Matter and Optics.
LO3 Explain the science behind the measurement techniques in the above areas.
