Module Description:The aim of this subject is to give the student an introduction to the fundamentals of computer networking.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Describe the roles of each layer of the OSI and TCP/IP models.
LO2 Analyse data using protocol analysis tools such as packet Tracer or Wireshark.
LO3 Design IP subnets using fixed subnet masks.
LO4 Document, test and troubleshoot small IP over Ethernet based installations.
