Module Description:This module aims to develop students understanding of the advanced application of psychology to childhood and adolescence. Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the behavioural social and emotional issues that children and young people may present with throughout their development. Furthermore students will develop a critical understanding of the relevant assessment and interventions for working with young people with behavioural, emotional and social issues
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Evaluate the different ways children can present with a variety of behavioural, social and emotional characteristics
LO2 Critique best practice models for assessment and intervention processes
LO3 Explore the nature and functions of different classroom techniques and their relevance to children with specific conditions
LO4 Develop an inclusive approach to a variety of early years settings
LO5 Demonstrate an ability to reflect, critique and debate theories of classification and assessment
