Module Description:This preparatory module will run in parallel with the final semester Capstone Work Placement module. It is designed to supplement students' development through their industry placement through the development and refinement of key employability and professional development skills.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Develop a comprehensive understanding of, and apply, key workplace knowledge and skills in preparation for the workplace module, i.e. module deliverables, workplace etiquette, critical reflection, time management, etc.
LO2 Comprehensively develop and refine key professional development skills for application in the workplace, i.e. communication, interview skills, CV development, presentation skills, report writing, teamwork, etc.
LO3 Critically reflect on both positive and negative developments during their time within industry through regular journal entries, via a programme such as Student Diary Pro.
LO4 Comprehensively synthesise the major findings and results from their workplace experience into an extensive written report to be accompanied by a presentation of their experience to faculty members and company representatives.
