Module Description:The aim of this module is to develop students' research and analytical skills pertaining to Early Childhood Care and Education and to develop skills to complete research within an Early Childhood Care and Education setting. This module will further enhance the student’s knowledge of the main research methodologies commonly utilised within the Early Childhood Care and Education environment. It will help students to plan a research project of their choice and to become reflective and independent researchers and to present their findings in the form of a research project.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Conduct qualitative research to answer a research question and conduct a sound qualitative research study within Early Childhood Care and Education.
LO2 Critically evaluate the quality of published research and its value to your research.
LO3 Conduct independent research, apply appropriate research methodology and have a comprehensive knowledge of the literature pertaining to their research topic.
LO4 Demonstrate effective planning and time-management skills.
LO5 Present their findings using advanced academic writing and citation techniques in a written research project.
